Inspeed Field Data Logging Kit
This data logging kit is intended for field-based monitoring and storage of wind speed data (does not include wind direction).
The kit includes an Inspeed Vortex Wind Sensor with 25 feet of wire (more on request), a MadgeTech Pulse110 battery-powered data logger, download software and cable, and a weather-proof enclosure for the data logger & display. The data logger includes a battery that will last up to 10 years (click here for more information on battery life). Collect and store over 16,000 intervals of wind speed, download it with ease, and view it with MadgeTech software.
This data loggging kit allows you to set up the data logger from your PC or laptop to collect up to 16,123 intervals of wind speed data. Each interval is an increment of time that you select. The data logger stores the number of rotor rotations during each interval, which is proportional to the AVERAGE wind speed during that interval. The end result is a collection of data points, each of which represents the average speed over that interval. The average speed is the ONLY information captured for each interval.
Intervals range from 2 seconds to 12 hours, and up to 16,383 can be stored in a single run. This means that the data logger can be left unattended from 9 hours (16,383 intervals at 2 seconds per interval) to "22 years" (16,383 intervals at 12 hours per interval).
Setting up the data logger is simple, using the software provided. Downloading the data is also simple with the MadgeTech software.

| SENSOR TYPE | 3-Cup plastic rotor |
| SENSOR RANGE | Up to 125+ MPH |
| DISPLAY | There is a Sigma Sport BC1200 bicycle computer display with the Madgetech Kit. The BC1200 displays current wind speed and stores max & average until manually reset. |
| DATA RATE | User selectable from 2 seconds to 12 hours. up to 100 pulses per second capture rate (equivalent of over 250 mph...) up to 4 millions pulses counted per interval The Madgetech data logger counts pulses (rotations) during each interval. A simple math formula converts pulses/interval to average wind speed during that interval. |
| POWER | BC1200 Display: CR2032 lithium coin battery Pulse 110 Data Logger: 10-year* enclosed battery *According to Madgetech, the 10 year life is based on a 15 minute interval OR LONGER [click for more info] |
| COMPUTER INTERFACE | USB |
| SOFTWARE | Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP based software |
| MOUNTING | The wind sensor is equipped with an aluminum mounting bracket with 2 holes. Weather-proof enclosure for the BC1200 display and the data logger. Set up the data logging by connecting the logger to a PC with the cable supplied, and simply connect the 2 wires from the wind sensor to collect wind data. Starting and stopping the data logger is done from the PC. |
| ACCURACY | +/-4% from 10 to 50 mph; a few tenths from 4 to 10 mph. Presumed accurate to within 4% to over 100 mph. |
| ROTOR DIAMETER | approx. 6 in (152 mm) |
