Q: Is it possible to measure constant using a usb cable and PC? Our will the meter stop if the memory of the meter is full. If so is it possible not the press the rec-button on the meter but grap the db(A) value from the sreen fot example every second ( I have a program that can grap values from the screen and write it to a file)
Thanks, Martin Klompjan
A: The unit needs to be in record mode to gather the data and to prevent auto power off. Once memory is full recording will stop.

Can the meter log only events over a certain level, say over 80dB? Or is it just limited by the time it runs and the interval of measurement?
A: It is only limited by the number of records it can hold which is 32700.

Q: Is this meter suitable to leaving on to record sounds that occur at widely spaced intervals e.g. for recording noise events that are unpredictable and occur every few hours, say?
A: The sound meter will record continually unit stopped by the user or if all 32700 records are filled.

Q; I need a meter that I can download information from Via USB (no one uses RS232 anymore?!) is it possible with this device> the spec mentions a USB cable, but con you confirm data is fully extractable? thanks
A; Yes you can download information to the PC and then extract it to a spreadsheet software.

Q:Hi, Can you give me details about the data logging ability of this unit? ie data rates and data capacity...
A: This meter has 32,700 records, and the interval can be adjusted between 1s and 60s.
So, basically if you set 1s, it can record for 32,700 seconds.

Q - Does the use of this meter require someone familiar with meter reading or can you easily follow instructions from the manual.
A - The 8852 is easy to use, it doesn't take long to get the hang of it.
