Q - Am I able to test the pH of paint with this pH meter?
A - The glass bulb probe on the meter is very fine and could be damaged if the solution is too dense, it would also be very difficult to clean the probe.
You would be better using a pH meter with a spear tip such as the Mettler Toledo FiveGo Food Kit.

Q - Can this equipment be used for testing soil PH?
A - No, this meter is to test the pH values of liquids. If you click on pH meters, then click on "need help to decide?" You can then select to view all our pH meters for use with soil.

Q; I still dont understand the second stage of calibration. "Immerse the electrode in pH4.01 or pH9.18. After about one minute, until the buffer solution value corresponding to the measurement temperature is obtained" Do you just leave it in the solution for 1 minute and do nothing, do you have to adjust it again with the trimmer. If so, doesn't it throw the first reading out?. I'm at a real loss here.
A; You don't trim on the second stage, this is purely to give you a slope factor reading for probe integrity.

Q; I dont understand the second stage of calibration. "Immerse the electrode in pH4.01 or pH9.18. After about one minute, until the buffer solution value corresponding to the measurement temperature is obtained" Could you please explain this. Thanks
A; Some units take 2 or 3 point calibration. This is to give you a slope factor percentage to determine probe accuracy.

Q:Can you tell me what the buffer solution is for and do I need to buy this for use with pH meter?
A: Buffer solution is used to calibrate the meter. You need to get the buffer solution nearest to the ph you are measuring.
