Temperature is a key parameter in the control of legionella bacteria and the Hanna HI-935005 Kit provides you with all you need for your temperature maintenance schedule. The Kit includes a high accuracy, robust thermometer complete with a liquid and a surface temperature probe to allow measurement from sentinel taps as well as pipe surface temperatures.

How can Legionnaires be prevented?

The likelihood of Legionella can be best reduced by good engineering practices in the operation and maintenance of air and water handling systems. Cooling towers and evaporative condesnsers should be inspected and thoroughly cleaned at least once a year. Corroded parts, such as drift eliminators, should be replaced. Algae and accumulated scale should be removed. Cooling water should be treated constantly, and hot water temperatures should be monitored.
