Q - I am looking for an accurate db metere for measuring the levels of noise from my motorbike exhaust, my exhaust noise measured at 117db which would fail most tests when i arrived at a track day it passed at 102db, can you recommend the right one please.
A - The most common weighting that is used in noise measurement is A-Weighting. Like the human ear, this effectively cuts off the lower and higher frequencies that the average person cannot hear.
C Weighting is usually used for Peak measurements.
We have many sound meters with both A&C weighting, the DSL-330 has both A&C weighting.
